Schwartz Paprika Smoked Seasoning Review

Jan. 05, 2020

Happy New Year! I hope you are all having an amazing start to 2020 so far. My first post of the year is a product review and I am so excited to share my thoughts with you all.

Schwartz are one of the world’s largest producers of herbs, spices and seasonings, so when I was asked to review their Smoked Paprika seasoning, I couldn’t say no. Paprika is a ground spice that is made from dried red fruits of the larger and sweeter varieties of bell pepper or sweet pepper. Paprika is used mostly in Eastern European dishes and is added to soups, stews, pasta and chicken. Herbs such as oregano and parsley compliment paprika perfectly. The paprika I am reviewing was smoked in Spain.

I decided to make bulgur with asparagus and chicken. As those of you who follow me on social media know, I go to the gym three to four times a week, so I wanted to make a healthy and hearty meal, something that wasn’t too complicated to make. This was my first time making bulgur. If you’ve been to a Turkish restaurant, then you’ll be familiar with it. It’s usually included in a platter or sold on its own. The bulgur I bought was quite small in size, it looked like cous cous. Either way, I didn’t mind as it had a really fresh and yummy taste. I used some of the broth from the paprika chicken to add a little flavour. Nothing gives a dish an extra kick like broth.

Schwartz Paprika Chicken

The smoked paprika chicken was delicious. It had a sweet, earthy and slightly bitter flavour. The seasoning did add a splash of colour to the dish, which I liked. I love chicken and I’m always experimenting with different flavours when I make it. Paprika is a very pigmented spice so if you do plan to use it, I do recommend handling it with care.

Overall, I have to say that this seasoning is a welcome addition to my collection of spices. Next time, I will use it in a soup or stew. I’m confident that I’ll be creating some more wonderful and authentic dishes with this spice in the near future.

The Schwartz Paprika Smoked seasoning is priced at £1.60 and is available from Tesco.

Schwartz have sent me this seasoning for review, but all views are my own.

I hope you all enjoyed this review. Have you ever used paprika before? If you have, what did you think and were you happy with the taste of your food?  I love hearing from you all, so do drop a comment below and also let me know if you’d like to see more food reviews on the blog xo

The biggest takeaway from The Polygamist so far is that if he’s left you before, he will leave you again. No comfort or peace can possibly be found with a man who has a pattern of leaving his family and going back to them. God’s strength to any woman with a Jonasi in their lives.

Watching #TheUltimatum and all I can say is that I’m ready for the French and South African versions to return. Like Love Is Blind, the U.S version has had its day.

It used to be Sana Jardin - Tiger By Her Side but the brand closed down. Not sure what’s going to be my go-to now. Currently wearing Nishane’s Thorns Become Roses, which is quite nice.
