We’ve all seen at least a few huge diamonds in the media, usually worn by Hollywood A-Listers and when an actress is out to receive an award or attending a premiere, she will be adorned with her best jewellery, knowing that she will be in the spotlight. Who knows the value of all this jewellery, but we can give you an insight into a few superstars and billionaires’ jewellery collections:

Elizabeth Taylor – This very famous Hollywood superstar was always surrounded by gorgeous jewellery, as you would expect with one of the most beautiful women that ever lived. The crowning glory of her jewellery collection was the diamond engagement ring that Richard Burton acquired for her, the Krupp Diamond, a ring for which Burton shelled out more than $300,000.
Queen Elizabeth II – Another Elizabeth, her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II is the ruler of the British Commonwealth, and as such, she has received many stunning items of jewellery as gifts. She has everything from the one-of-a-kind Crown Jewels that are priceless, right down to a beautiful antique engagement ring collection handed down through the family.
Princess Salima Aga Khan – A debutant and fashion model, Sarah Croker-Poole married Prince Carim Aga Khan IV, one of the richest men in the world and thus became a princess, which is every woman’s dream. She loved Cartier and Boucheron, but no one knows how many pieces she has. Safe to say she would have a stunning collection of jewellery, and sadly, in the mid-1990s, the marriage ended and there was some dispute regarding her jewellery collection.
The Duchess of Windsor – Wallis Simpson is a name that rings loudly through British history, as the American socialite (divorced) captured the heart of King Edward, leading to his abdication from the throne. She stayed with Edward for 35 years, and during that time, she amassed a breath-taking collection of jewellery, including a spectacular Cartier charm bracelet with nine specially engraved charms. She also had a ruby and diamond necklace, which was a gift for her 40th birthday, plus she had a stunning diamond panther bracelet, which was commissioned to Cartier from the Duchess of Windsor.
Mrs. Lily Safra – The wife of a Brazilian billionaire banker, Lily was besotted with fine jewellery and she was a serious collector. With access to almost unlimited funds, Lily commissioned from all the major jewellery makers. Whenever she was at a function, she would wear stunning necklaces and earrings, and rarely ever wore the same items, which shows just how large her collection must have been.
There are still many fine antique jewellery pieces available from the online antique jewellery, and should you wish to add to your growing collection, a Google search will put you in touch with a respected antique dealer, who can source any item on your behalf. Fine antique jewellery is very solid investment and something that will bring untold pleasure for many years to come, and the online antique dealer would have an impressive collection.
